The 3 Hour Skirt
Half day workshop
£85.00
LEVEL:
2
'Give a man a fish and you
feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you
feed him for a lifetime'.
Don't buy an overpriced pencil
skirt. You give us £85.00 and we'll teach
you how to make your own pencil skirts. Never
again will you need to spend £30.00 on a
skirt from TopShop or worse, £49.00 for
one from Zara. After this 3 hour workshop you
will be able to sew your own skirts for a fraction
of the price.
This workshop is suitable for
those with basic sewing skills (you must be able
to use a machine). If you do not have these skills,
please complete the sewing
machine basic workshop before applying for
this course. During this course you will construct
a skirt (from a commercial pattern which we supply
and which you can keep) but please bring your
own fabric as well as a matching skirt length
(7") zip - if you are an advanced sewer then
you can bring a concealed zip.
This course will teach
you how to:
Take correct measurements to choose
pattern size
Read the pattern envelope
Read and follow pattern instructions
and layouts
Use basic sewing tools
Lay and cut out fabric
Identify markings and trace these
from pattern to fabric
Sew darts
Insert zips
Finish seams
Hem skirt
Things to bring: Shears/fabric
scissors, tape measure, small sharp pointed scissors,
pins, paper scissors, Scotch tape, interfacing,
dressmakers carbon paper, tracing wheel and a
seam ripper. Don't worry if you haven't got everything
on the list, we may be able to provide some things.
You will also need to bring with you the fabric
of your choice, matching thread, interfacing and
a skirt length (7 inch) concealed zip also matching.
If you are unable to source your own fabric, you
can purchase our fabric pack at a cost of £5.00.
This packs includes fabric, interfacing, thread
and zip.
